Manal Murangi (she/they) is an Egyptian-Namibian (Mbanderu tribe) queer visual artist settled on Piscataway Conoy land in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Their pieces are driven by passion for exploring connections between humanity and nature. Her film work explores complex topics such as Black food sovereignty, GenZ’s climate anxiety, and ocean exploration.

She’s worked with OceanX, Maryland Sea Grant, and is currently a contract Video Engineer with the EV Nautilus. In fall of 2024 she will begin pursuing a Masters degree in Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island.
